Janet Haid Higgins, 72, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020 with her daughters by her side. Janet was born in Zainesville, OH on July 17, 1948. She grew up in Ft. Pierce, FL and graduated from Dan McCarty High School, Class of 1966.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Shana and Mark Hales of Orlando and Katie and Ryan Williams of Sanford, and her four grandchildren Caroline, Jacob, Parker and Charlee. She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen Warren Higgins, who she was married to for 33 years, sister Carol Diane Haid and her parents, Albert and Caroline Haid. Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, a day at the beach, gardening and working in the yard, as well as cheering for the Florida Gators. In high school, she was a double Fire Baton Twirlette, where they went to state competition for several years in a row.

Jan and Steve were high school sweethearts and during the early years of their marriage, they lived in Hawaii where he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. After nearly five years in Hawaii, the Higgins moved to Gainesville, FL, where they started their family and lived for over a decade until they moved to Longwood, FL.
