Jim was my childhood sweetheart - it was through him that I met my best friend Joanie, his sister.  Didn't see much of Jim after high school until later years when he and his wife Julie went through some very hard times leading to Julie's untimely death from cancer.  Jim also had health issues which escalated the year before he died.  Jim and I dated for two and a half years.  For many reasons, he was filled with sadness and a sense of loss during the last year of his life.  However,  he still displayed that famous wit and charm on many occasions.  We had some good times together, especially traveling to Scandinavia where my family became entranced with this Scottish "cowboy."   He was a very special man, and I miss him greatly.

Jim worked with me for a short time at SunTrust/SunBank as a loan officer.  He was always upbeat and had a big hello for everyone.  He was a special person.  I know he must have been hurting terribly.
