Benny Dickson

Benny Dickson passed away on August 25, 2021 at the Charles Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Benny was born on May 21,1947 at Fort Pierce Memorial Hospital to Jewel and Maudie Dickson.  He graduated from Dan McCarty High School 1966.  He worked as an Aircraft Assembler at Piper until Uncle Sam drafted him in September 1966.  Benny served one year in Dong BA Thin, Vietnam and received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Performance of Duty.  After returning to the U.S., he served the remainder of his time at Fort Campbell, KY.

Upon returning to Fort Pierce, he decided to travel and went to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and South America, down the top of the Andes Mountains to Quito, Ecuador and back.  After settling down, he worked as a painter, following in his father's trade.  After living in Fort Pierce for 58 years, he moved to North Augusta, SC where he resided for the remainder of his life.

Survivors include; Dickie Dickson of Mt Pleasant, NC.  He was preceded by his brother Billy Dickson; father J.E. Dickson and mother Goldean Dickson.

Following the memorial service at Republican Baptist Church on August 28, 2021, Mr. Dickson, will be conveyed to Haisley Funeral Home of Fort Pierce, Florida for funeral and interment services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Republican Baptist Church in Memory of Benny.

Rest In Peace Benny.  It sounds as if you lived a happy life.
